Another historic moment unfolded in Saguday as community leaders and officials gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Saguday Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Facility. Hon. Jerry Pagbilao, joined by the Sangguniang Bayan members led by Vice Mayor Ric Cadiente, DILG represented by Mr. Abraham Cariazo, PNP represented by PMaj William Agpalza, head of offices and CSO graced the event symbolizing a shared commitment to addressing addiction issues that have affected countless lives.

This transformative endeavor was made possible by the generous donation of 5 million pesos from the Dangerous Drugs Board, presented just under a month ago.

During his address, Hon. Ric Cadiente expressed gratitude, remarking that Saguday has been blessed with numerous opportunities and resources.

Mr. Cariazo echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that such funding is a testament to Saguday’s exemplary performance. He stressed that such funding would not have been possible without the town’s demonstrated commitment to good governance and its unwavering dedication to addressing the drug addiction issue.

Hon. Jerry M. Pagbilao, the visionary behind this initiative, outlined his dream for the facility. The second floor will serve as a rehabilitation center, offering a lifeline to those seeking recovery, with Bahay-Silangan and Bahay-Kanlungan providing support and hope. The lower ground will house the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), reflecting the holistic approach Saguday embraces in its mission to address addiction.

This groundbreaking event signifies Saguday’s unwavering resolve to stand together against addiction, offering a sanctuary of hope and a pathway to rehabilitation. As construction begins, the town embarks on a journey toward a stronger, more compassionate, and resilient community.
